Soller-Baker Funeral Homes, Inc., a privately owned firm, in Lafayette, Indiana, is looking to hire a licensed funeral director/embalmer or possibly an intern. We are a firm assisting 450 + families a year out of 2 locations, with our own crematory at our administrative office.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinate and arrange funeral services, including viewing, ceremonies, and burials
• Preparation of the deceased for viewing through embalming, dressing, and cosmetology
• Manage administrative tasks such as paperwork and contracts.
• Collaborate with clergy, celebrants, and other service providers
• Proficiency in cosmetology for post-mortem care
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed
• Computer knowledge is helpful
• Ability and understanding of a clean and sanitary preparation area
• Excellent communication skills
• Driver’s license and insurability required
• Communicate well with other staff members
• Answering phone calls and taking death calls
• Organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to dress and act in a professional manner
• Bilingual helpful but not required
