2026 Consumer Protection Fund
The State Board of Funeral and Cemetery Service has reviewed the balance of the Preneed Consumer Protection Fund and the Consumer Protection Fund for Cemetery Maintenance and determined that payment will NOT be required March 1, 2026.
To renew your certificate of authority click here.
You do not have to report your preneed sales on any form to the board unless payment is due that particular year. All reports (other than reporting their Seller’s agents) are filed using the paper forms.
IPLA keeps the Renewal of Certificate of Authority and Disclosure and Payment of Prepaid Contract Sold, State Form 51264, as an active form for use when a certificate of authority has been expired for several years. In that case, the online renewal will not work because of the possibility that you may have to pay into the fund for previously missed renewals/reporting. If this is the case, Tracy will provide you with a form for each year expired with each expiration date indicated so you can file all required information and pay the required fees into the preneed consumer protection fund.
When payment is due into the Preneed Consumer Protection Fund, IPLA will notify you on your renewal notice that you need to report your Seller’s agents and renew online and file the attached Disclosure and Payment of Prepaid Contract Sold, State Form 49629. Since you will always need to report the Seller’s agents on your online renewal, IPLA will likely update State Form 49629 to take the reporting of Seller’s agents section off.
