George A. Baran, 86 of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago. George was the beloved only child of late Whiting, Indiana funeral directors, George F. and Irene J. (Gabor) Baran.

George was the third generation owner of Baran Funeral Home, Whiting, serving as president and treasurer of Baran & Son, Inc.
