Robert DeVerter

Robert “Bob” Moore DeVerter, 82, of Cayuga and a resident of Bickford Memory Care in Crawfordsville, Indiana passed away peacefully with family by his side at 9 A.M., April 14, 2023, at Franciscan Health Hospital in Crawfordsville, Indiana. 

In 1960, Robert began his funeral director career at Conkle Funeral Home in Speedway, Indiana. In May 1974, he purchased the former Hegg Funeral Home in Covington, Indiana. In the spring of 1981, Robert went into the funeral business with his brother Malcom in Cayuga, Indiana.  This changed the name of the funeral home from Malcolm DeVerter Funeral Home to DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home.  Robert served the local communities as a funeral director for approximately 46 years.
