Thomas J. “Tom” Burns, 92, of Highland, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2026. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and longtime funeral director, Tom dedicated his life to caring for his family and serving his community.

Tom joined the family funeral business established by his grandparents, James and Mary Burns. Through his many years at Burns-Kish Funeral Homes, he helped generations of families navigate their most difficult moments with compassion, dignity, and personal attention. He understood that being a funeral director meant being someone families could depend on. His 70 years of membership in the Indiana Funeral Directors Association reflected his lifelong commitment to the profession.
